One of the biggest obstacles I see beginners getting stuck at is choosing a niche.

You might have your offer down, but you don't exactly know who to target with it.

Well don't stress...

By the end of this email you'll have a much clearer idea on which direction you should go and who you should be working with.

First of all, why exactly is niching down important?

Well, there's a great saying that explains it perfectly...

"When you write for everyone, you end up writing for no one."

The more you try to please everyone, the more you please NO ONE.

This can apply to almost everything, but especially when it comes to selling.

So why exactly is this the case?

Well when you niche down further and further, you start to hone in on one very specific demographic.

And when you start to understand their pain points, their language, and their interests...

It becomes infinitely easier to sell to them by using this to your advantage.

So what are some things to keep in mind when niching down?

1. Where do you already have experience and knowledge?

The first thing to ask yourself is, "Where do I already have experience and knowledge?"

Then work from there.

Example: You're fitness coach looking to niche down and target one demographic...

Let's say you used to work in tech and understand what that work life is like.

Niche down and target tech workers and consultants that are trying to balance work-life and get fit at the same time.

You already understand what it's like to work in tech
You can relate and understand their pain points
You have a solution to fix their problem

Simple and easy.

If you don't have any knowledge or experience in any niche (if that's even possible)

Then just choose a niche you actually find interesting.

That way when you're researching and learning more about it, it's not totally unbearable to you.

2. Can they afford your services?

Something very important that not many people consider is, "Can these people afford my services?"

When niching down, you need to make sure you're choosing a niche that makes enough to pay you for your services.

Meaning if your service is high-ticket ($2500/month or more) you need to be targeting people that make at least double that every month.

Otherwise, how are they supposed to afford you?

You also don't want to be working with cheap clients that are penny pinching because they are the BIGGEST headaches to deal with.

If your service is $2500/month and your client only makes $4000/month, guess what?

They'll nitpick and annoy you every chance they get.

And can you blame them?

They're investing a huge portion of their monthly income every month.

Of course they'll be overly cautious.

But lets say you target someone that makes $20,000/month.

Guess what? That $2500 is a significantly smaller portion of their monthly income.

They'll be much more willing to work with you in a mutually beneficial way.

People that earn that much often understand that you need to invest money in order to make more money.

They won't be scared.

3. Who is the easiest to work with?

This is a very important one when it comes to work-life balance AND scaling your business.

Eventually after you've worked with a couple clients, you'll come to a realization that some are easier to work with than others.

And I'm not just talking about personality...

I'm talking about getting actual results.

Example: Lets say you're a Ghostwriter for founders on Twitter making at least $20,000/month and your ghostwriting offer is $3000/month.

Your first client is a founder selling info products and your second client is a fitness coach.

The first client is selling an info product for $50 while the fitness coach has a personal training offer for $1500/month.

In order to get an ROI with the info products, you'd need to help him make at least 60 new sales every month.

For the fitness trainer, you just need to help him close 2 clients every month.

It's a lot easier to close 2 high-ticket clients every month consistently than it is to sell 60 products every month consistently.

These are 3 things that I focused on and tested consistently when I was niching down and perfecting my offer.

You should always keep these things in mind, even when you feel like you have the perfect offer...

There's always room to improve, so always be testing.
